At a Glance
Built 100 years ago by a local craftsman in the shadow of the 18th Century Abbaye D'aulps and lived in by the same family for 98 years. In 2020, we, a Los Angeles based couple took guardianship employing a palate of natural lime plaster, reclaimed wood and custom fixtures in line with eastern design philosophy. The home evokes a sense of growth, charm and natural patina whilst nodding to its surroundings.
imperfect & impermanent
We wanted to create a home that evoked the same feelings of the mountains that surround it. A sense of natural beauty and calmness born from the imperfection and evolving patinas and landscape.
The Stone House and the 3 homes within it’s boundaries nod to this wabi sabi way of living and celebrate the imperfections found within the materials we used whilst embracing the luxury of fires, copper baths and large sofas.
Nestled in the gateway to Europes second largest ski resort.
Located in the quaint alpine village of Saint Jean D’aulps within the Portes Du Soleil ski region we are a short drive from some of the world’s best skiing. Our local resort Roc D’Enfer is a 5minute drive or short bus ride whilst access to the larger PDS region can be found at Ardent or Morzine which are both an easy 15min drive away. Beyond that Les Gets is easily accessible.
The town of Saint Jean D’aulps is a short walk where local restaurants, chemists and pubs can be found.
